Not a ton of new news.  We did confirm a few more donors which includes Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, Paradise Garage, Midwest Photo Exchange and Cafe Brioso.  Thanks in advance to our kind sponsors.  All their donations directly benefit the orphans of Asia’s Hope as well as keep our riders caffeinated and happy.

Make sure to pay your fees while the early bird rate is still in effect.  Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

See this weeks post for your answer.  Thanks!

So, as promised, we have some BIG news.  No, Clint isn’t popping in for a visit unfortunately (not for lack of trying).  We are, however, going to be having this years Awesomefest at Gateway theater!  We will have a 122 seat theater all to ourselves.  Not only does this mean multiple toilets, air conditioning and comfortable seats but it is also logistically more convenient as the theater has a full kitchen to feed us and Evolved is only 3 blocks away!

With this good news comes a couple of slightly less convenient bits of news.  The first is we had to move the date (the last time, I promise).  We are now holding the event on July 31st.  This is good news for those of you who are participating in Pelotonia, since you no longer have conflicting dates (consider Awesomefest a practice ride).  The second thing is that the fee had to increase a bit.  This is due to the licensing fees we have to pay the movie studio to screen the films.  The new fee is $60 which includes 5 films, 2 meals and 1 kick ass shirt as well as a goody bag, movie trivia and prizes.  That is the early bird rate and it is good until July 1st.  After that it goes to $65.  It will cost you $70 at the door.

Thats all for now.  I am told we should have another poster design up for next weeks post so stay tuned.  Have a great weekend!

Spoke cards are now at B1, Seagull and Cafe Brioso in limited quantities.  See previous post for addresses of locations.  Also, B1 is going to be donating some gift cards for this years silent auction, so let me say again, BRING MONEY.  All the proceeds go towards helping orphans in Asia.  Lets do it.

Have a great weekend but just remember that Clint is watching everything you do. That means no texting while you are driving.

I have a couple awesome bits of news.  The first is that the spoke cards are finally in.  If you want one you can read the previous post about the drop locations or you can email us at awesomefest2010@gmail.com with your mailing address.

The second is that Gateway Film Center is now one of our sponsors!  That means not only passes and the like for the auction but also a possible new venue for future fests.  Just think of it… cushy seats, big screen, popcorn.  Insane.

Finally, remember you can pay your fees through the blog today to save on your fee.  The early bird rate is $50.  It will be $60 after August 1st.  You can also pre-order extra shirts for your loved ones.

Thats all for now.  See you next Friday.

This week I have some outstanding news.  Seagull Bags is going to donate one of their brilliant bags to the silent auction again this year.  Here is the design that the masters of Seagull created for the Jaws theme last year.  Don’t know about you  but I can’t wait to see what they come with.

Also, I will be receiving the spoke cards any day now so hit me up if you want one.  I am having 100 made and so I will leave limited quantities of 15 or so at several locations around town.  You can pick them up at B1, Seagull, Cafe Brioso or Paradise Garage any time after Wednesday next week.

Have a great weekend!

Awesomefest Poster #1

This is the first of the five alternative posters being done for this years Awesomefest. Each will be printed in a limited run of 5 and will be available to purchase in the silent auction on the day of the event.

Bill, the designer, was going for a vintage feel with his design. I think he nailed it with a simple, elegant design.

We have a couple HUGE news bits.  Pabst Blue Ribbon will once again be a donor. That means free beer for everyone! Not too many things are more awesome than that.

Secondly, it looks like we will get a bit of screen time of WCMH channel 4. I had a chance to talk to Rick Reitzel the other day and he is definitely interested in what we are doing. More details to come on that.

Finally, Octopus Caps will be making 15 custom caps for the auction. Several of them will be made out of last years Jaws design. So make sure to bring plenty of spending money this year. And remember, all of this is for the kids.
